Trio for three soprano recorders (all three double alto and tenor).
Grade 5. Approx. duration: five minutes.
Set includes a score and three parts.
This work for recorder trio was inspired by a ten kilometer walk under the desert sun in which a mysterious light appeared. In addition to the soprano recorder, each player doubles on either alto and tenor or alto and bass. Silva makes use of a number of contemporary techniques, such as partial wind support, concurrent playing and singing and tone bending.
Composed in 2011, this work was premiered in the Centro Gabriela Mistral Auditorium in Santiago, Chile, on December 3, 2011 by La Compañía de Céfiro (Sergio Candia, Carmen Troncoso and Elke Zeiner). A recording of the premiere performance, by La Compañía de Céfiro, was released on compact disk by Germina.Cciones.
