Set includes a performance score and one part.
Each of this work’s three movements is inspired in a particular Latin American dance; the first, in the rhythms of Colombia’s Pacific coast, the second, in the tango and the Euro/African “champeta” of that same region, and the last is a reminiscence of the kind of fandango commonly heard in the region known as the “Sabana,” which is located in the eastern part of Colombia’s Department of Córdoba.
The percussion part requires one pair of claves, one pair of bongos, and one pair of castañuelas.
