In “Little Tropical Suite,” Pérez-Valero seeks to unite three characteristic airs of tropical music in the style of a little concert suite. Consisting of three movements, Danzón-Montuno (a typical Caribbean air), Canción (a slow contrasting middle movement) and a samba of clearly Brazilian origin, the work is light and enjoyable, and is ideal either as the first or last piece on a recital for English horn and piano.
