Federico Núñez informed us that his flute trio, Quimeras, was pre premiered on June 21 by the Saratoga Flute Trio at the Pedro Esnaola Music School in Buenos Aires.
Kent Holliday’s Five Ritual Dance Miniatures for bassoon trio was performed for the first time at the International Double Reed Society convention last month in Georgia.
One of our artists, Julie Koidin, just got back last Thursday from Cuenca, Ecuador, where she taught flute and presented master classes under the auspices of the Fulbright Specialist program.
Fernando Oliveira is on his way to Romania to work with the Icon Arts Percussion Group and the soprano Veronica Anusca for rehearsals and premiere of his piece, Libertação, for soprano and four percussionists. The trip is the result of having been selected as one of the scholarship winners of the Icon Arts Composer-in-Residence Program 2016, and was made possible in part by the people who contributed to his crowdfunding campaign.
Nicolás Hernández left today for Mexico, where he will be pursuing a master’s degree in composition at the National Autonomous University in Mexico City.
