This month we are pleased to release an initial group of works that were composed in Venezuela during the mid to late 19th century. Curated by musicologist Juan López-Maya, this series provides a truly rare opportunity to appreciate instrumental music that oftentimes surprised audiences by its ingenuity and originality. For our part, we have carefully edited these works in a practical but simple manner, with the hope of delighting modern-day instrumentalists who, familiar with the romantic tradition, will find in them a fresh and exotic spirit.
In addition, we have also added two new contemporary works to our catalog, one for oboe and piano and the other for saxophone quartet.
