Though not a solo instrument, the guitar provides a continuo-like timbre to this unusually instrumented string orchestra. However, we think that optionally the string orchestra could be replaced by a string quartet.
Dr. Leon Burke III led the University City Symphony Orchestra in the North American premiere of “Miquijá” on February 25, 2018, in University City, Missouri. William Hopkins played the guitar.
The rental materials for this work consist of a conductor's score and the following parts:
