Three-movement work for flute, guitar and string orchestra.
Grade 4. Approx. duration: 14 and a half minutes.
Score only.
A sojourner is a traveler who stays somewhere for a brief period. In this concerto, Lezcano attempts to capture the sensation of energy that a traveler feels while entering new worlds and encountering experiences and adventures, but senses a touch of nostalgia at the moment of departure. The second movement takes its title from a beautiful poem, “She Walks in Beauty,” by Lord Byron, that seems appropriate for a nocturne. The final movement, “Mercurio,” references not only the element mercury and the planet of the same name, but also, the Roman god of commerce and travel. For this reason, “Mercurio” moves along quite briskly and with multiple meter changes.
This set includes a conductor's score and the following parts:
5ea. Violin I, II 3 Viola 3 Cello 2 String bass
