This collection consists of five pieces for piano by Aníbal Aracena Infanta (Chile), Teresa Carreño and Reynaldo Hahn (Venezuela), Alexandre Levy (Brazil), and José Valle Riestra (Peru). Composed between about 1880 and 1925 these works are typical of the period and are meant to be suggestive of moods, images or events. These pieces are equally appropriate as recital pieces or as didactic works, especially for their value in helping to teach rhythm.
