Jointly commissioned in 2010 by the Music Teachers National Association and the Virginia Music Teachers Association, this work was premiered at the Virginia Music Teachers Association Fall Conference (November 11-14, 2010) on the campus of James Madison University. In 2011 the piece won an Honorable Mention in the MTNA Distinguished Composer of the Year Competition.
