Set consists of a score and three parts.
Composed in 2017, the title of this piece is a play on the Portuguese word “capítulo,” which means chapter in English. Although a single-movement divided into three contrasting sections, the work reveals a predominantly contrapuntal texture throughout. The first section, which begins with a moderate tempo, is followed by a second, slower section in a compound meter, but with several interruptions by asymmetric meters. The final section is faster, and is characterized by an agitated character in 2/4 time.
