Wind quintet for flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon.
Grade 4. Approx. duration: seven and a half minutes.
Set includes a score and five parts.
This two-movement work was composed in 1998 and dedicated to the wind quintet of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Venezuela. In this work, Benedetti intends to recreate the atmosphere of the pantanal, which is the largest endangered swamp in the world. With texts from Rubén Osorio Canales’s “El Nuevo reino” (1981), she seeks the emotional interaction of word and music not superimposed, thus reflecting the essence of the life cycle of every living between, but without losing the illusion of eternal transcendence. The formal baroqueism and the use of characteristic elements of that time are the product of the exhaustion of the idea of novelty, while at the same time attempting to achieve a moment that moves the listener to feel that danger can fall into disappearance.

Director: Enluis Montes
