Composed in 2005, in this work the esthetic principles of 20th century composition are saturated by the typical sonorities of Mexican music. Paying homage to the sounds of life and death in Mexico, the development of musical ideas in the quartet follows a Western line while at the same time allowing for the composer’s personal impressions as well as bits and pieces of Mexican melodies and rhythms.
