This collection consists of six pieces for piano by Julián Aguirre (Argentina), Teresa Carreño (Venezuela), José Comellas (Cuba), Juan Morel Campos (Puerto Rico) and Alberto Nepomuceno (Brazil). Composed between about 1865 and 1910 these works are typical of the period and are meant to be suggestive of moods, images or events. These pieces are equally appropriate as recital pieces or as didactic works, especially for their value in helping to teach rhythm.
