FJBP 103
String orchestra and timpani.
Grade 4. Approx. duration: 12 minutes.
Score only.
Completed in 1953, this work was premiered on July 3, 1955 in the National Library of Venezuela. Based on an isorhythm that serves as the central theme of the composition, the work makes uses of abundant divisi sections in all of the strings, as well as simultaneous solo parts in both the violin and cello. The isorhythmic theme appears in its ordinary form, as well as in its inverted, transposed and retrograde forms. This work constitutes an exception, not only when compared to the rest of Plaza’s output as a composer; but indeed, to all of the symphonic works composed in Venezuela during the 1950s.
The rental materials for this work consist of a conductor's score and the following parts:
6ea. Violin I, II 6 Viola 6 Cello 3 String bass 1 Timpani
