Solo for flute with piano accompaniment.
Grade 5. Approx. duration: eight and a half minutes.
Set includes a piano score and one part.
Each movement of this work for flute and piano is based on traditional Chilean dance rhythms. The first is based on the lively Chilean dance known as the “cueca;” the second on the slow-moving, rural “tonada;” and the third on the popular “pericona,” which developed on Chile’s Chiloé Island. This dance, which may have originated in Argentina or Uruguay, is characterized by its quadruple meter.
Anna Eberly, flute; Riko Higuma, piano.
